Tickets can be bought online or in-person at the time of your visit. The exhibit has limited occupancy and admittance is by timed ticketing only. Hoċokata Ṫi recommends advance booking via our website as walk-in ticketing is subject to availability.

For general admission tickets, please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before your exhibit reservation. If your group is taking part in a guided tour of the exhibit, please meet in the Hoċokata Ṫi lobby no more than 15 minutes before your scheduled tour start time.

Individuals who buy a general admission ticket can explore the exhibit at their own pace, though most spend less than an hour in the exhibit. Guided exhibit tours for groups are typically one hour in length.

Photography is allowed in the exhibit, following these guidelines:

• Selfie sticks, tripods, and professional photography equipment are prohibited. All photos and videos for professional or commercial use require approval from the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community PRIOR to your visit.
• Cases holding objects marked with “No Photography” signs may not be photographed.
• Objects on loan may not be photographed. These objects are labeled with “loan,” “lent by,” “private collection,” or the name of a museum other than Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community/Hoċokata Ṫi.

At this time, the public is welcome to enjoy the Mdewakanton: Dwellers of the Spirit Lake exhibit, gift shop, library, and main lobby. The outdoor trails and gardens include plants that are culturally significant to Dakota people and are only available for use by members of the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community. The trails, gardens, and lower level of the building are not open to the public.
